Confidentiality

Confidentiality is very important to the Trinity Centre. Due to the sensitive nature of sexual health we follow very strict standards to ensure confidentiality is maintained.

A set of notes will made for you using a unique identification number. Any sample which may be taken will be labelled with this unique number and your date of birth only.

Notes do not leave the Trinity Centre and are securely stored when the department is closed.  

Occasionally your details may need to be shared for onward referrals i.e. GP/scans/cervical smear/complex saftey issues. This is rare and will be clearly explained and your consent gained.

Any professional visitors to the department are stressed the importance of confidentiality.  All staff  are aware any break in confidentiality could lead to serious consequences.
